With NYCFC vying to take over the New York soccer scene, New York Red Bull will need to reinvent themselves as the club of legacy. A founding MLS club in 1996, the MetroStars changed ownership and became Red Bull in 2006. The next season, average attendance dropped 7,000 per game. Although it's recovered, the MetroStars brand is never far from memory. To reignite the New York MetroStar faithful, Red Bull need to revert to the MetroStar name.
